Pet therapy provides patients the opportunity to spend time with a friendly companion, which reduces children’s stress. Certified pet therapy dogs visit patients in the playrooms and at patients’ bedside almost daily. Several furry friends, spend time visiting children, some perform tricks to entertain patients and others are good for a loving hug. For more information about visiting with a pet therapy dog or requesting a pet therapy dog to come to a child’s room, please contact a child life specialist at (562) 933-8060.

Family Pet Visitation

We encourage patient and family centered care, including a visit from your beloved family dog. At times, Miller Children’s & Women's will allow a family dog to visit a sick child who is in the hospital.

To request a visit from your family pet, call (562) 933-8060.
