Our volunteer “grandparents” visit and spend time with children who are in the hospital. These “grandparents” visit children at their bedside to color, play board games or talk.

The volunteer "grandparents" help relieve a child's fear, lessens their anxieties and provides comfort to children whose parents may have had to step out of the hospital for awhile.

Volunteer grandparents wear special aprons that are usually painted by some of their patients that they frequently visit and wear a volunteer ID badge, so parents and families can always identify who the volunteer grandparent is.

Contact a child life specialist at (562) 933-8060 to see if a volunteer grandparent is available. Learn more about becoming a volunteer grandparent.
