MemorialCare Miller Children’s & Women’s spread the Valentine’s Day cheer in February by encouraging community members to submit their own special Valentine’s Day grams online and at community events to our patients. This year, Miller Children’s & Women’s also received special grams from long-term employer partner Laserfiche.
Laserfiche has supported patients at Miller Children’s & Women’s throughout the years, including the Flames of Hope Project for the Jonathan Jaques Children’s Cancer Institute, and annual Beach Day and Santa’s Workshop events.
To make a lasting impact, Laserfiche took the Valentine’s Day grams to its four-day Laserfiche Empower Conference. The conference welcomes more than 3,000 Laserfiche users and technology enthusiasts to the Long Beach Convention Center to learn from industry professionals, connect with peers from around the world and celebrate their commitment to driving in their organizations.
At the Corporate Social Responsibility booth, hundreds of Miller Children’s & Women’s Valentine’s Day grams were available for conference attendees fill out with a personal message of love and support. After completing their grams, attendees posted them on a special Miller Children’s & Women’s wall to showcase their messages during the conference. After, they were shared with patients each day leading up to Valentine’s Day.

Following the four-day conference, more than 1,050 Valentine’s Day grams were collected and returned to Miller Children’s & Women’s. Dozens of patients received these special grams throughout Valentine’s Day week to help brighten their day while being hospitalized on the holiday.
“Our hospitalized patients do not get to experience a typical Valentine’s Day celebration at school,” says Rita Goshert, director, Cherese Mari Laulhere Child Life Program, Miller Children’s & Women’s. “We use the Laserfiche Valentine’s Day grams and other fun activities to help ‘normalize’ their hospital experience. We are thankful for Laserfiche’s Valentine’s Day grams and their continued support.”
