The Healthy Kids Program at the Torrance Outpatient Specialty Center offers a multi-disciplinary approach to healthy weight management and preventative care for children and teens at risk of developing serious health problems, such as high cholesterol and high blood pressure.
This unique program combines the expertise of a cardiologist, gastroenterologist and registered dietitian, who work together to help children and their families improve their overall health and practice healthy lifestyle habits.
After a thorough health evaluation, our care team will develop a comprehensive long-term plan for your child, which may include a weight-loss component that incorporates heart healthy eating and exercise. In many children, when weight comes down, so does bad cholesterol and blood pressure.
Our Healthy Kids Program offers evaluation, treatment and long-term monitoring for the following conditions:
- High Cholesterol
- High Blood Pressure
- Fatty Liver Disease
