About Me

Dr. Sassan Farjami is a fellowship trained, board-certified hematologist-oncologist at Cancer & Blood Specialty Clinic in Long Beach, CA. Dr. Farjami serves as the General Oncology Tumor Board chair at the MemorialCare Todd Cancer Institute at Long Beach Medical Center.

Dr. Farjami received his medical degree from Tehran University of Medical Services and completed his internal medicine residency, serving as Chief Resident, at Westchester Medical Center, New York Medical College. His first fellowship was in hematology-oncology at Westchester Medical Center, where he served as chief fellow. A second fellowship was completed in geriatric medicine at Parker Jewish Institute, Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Farjami is board-certified in Hematology-Oncology, Geriatric Medicine, and Internal Medicine.

Dr. Farjami is affiliated with Translational Research in Oncology (TRIO) at University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). His research centers on breast, GI, and thoracic oncology and is published in multiple peer-reviewed medical journals, abstracts and publications.

He is an Assistant Professor, Medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and an active member of the American Society of Hematology (ASH), American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), American Geriatric Society (AGS), American Medical Association (AMA) and the American Society of Internal Medicine.

Dr. Farjami enjoys traveling, playing tennis and skiing with his wife and sons.
