About Me
Dr. Castillo is passionate about LGBTQ medicine and strives to be an outspoken, visible leader within his community. He has a special interest in gender-affirming hormone therapy and the prevention of sexually transmitted infections (STIs). His practice includes specific time every week reserved for transgender patients to seek hormone replacement therapy (HRT) and preventative medicine in a caring and accepting environment.
Dr. Castillo serves as Director of LGBTQ Health and Associate Program Director, Family Medicine Residency Program at MemorialCare Long Beach Medical Center. He is committed to training physicians who are mindful of social determinants of health, including socioeconomic status, education level, and health literacy—ensuring that all patients receive the quality care they deserve.
In his free time, Dr. Castillo loves singing, making music, cooking, trying new restaurants, trivia and crossword puzzles. He is also an avid fan of Bay Area sports teams. He is fluent in English and Tagalog and speaks intermediate Spanish.
