David P. Tahour, M.D. is a board-certified, fellowship-trained vascular and interventional radiologist and serves as Chair, MemorialCare Imaging Center and Director, Vascular & Interventional Radiology at Long Beach Medical Center.
Dr. Tahour specializes in minimally invasive, image-guided therapies using CT, fluoroscopy, ultrasound, MRI, and PET imaging to treat both adult and pediatric patients. His clinical practice spans a broad spectrum of complex conditions, including malignancies, acute traumatic hemorrhage, and thromboembolic disease.
He earned his medical degree from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. He completed his diagnostic radiology residency at the Keck School of Medicine of USC, followed by a fellowship in interventional radiology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center / Weill Cornell Medical Center, where he also received advanced subspecialty training in interventional oncology. Dr. Tahour is board certified by the American Board of Radiology in both interventional radiology and diagnostic radiology.
A leading clinical researcher at MemorialCare, Dr. Tahour has served as principal investigator on numerous clinical trials. He made international history as the first investigator worldwide to treat an acutely bleeding trauma patient as part of the HALT trial, advancing the role of minimally invasive hemorrhage control in trauma care.
His clinical and research interests center on cutting-edge oncologic therapies, including tumor ablation, embolization, and Yttrium-90 (Y-90) radioembolization. He is among the leading providers of Y-90 radioembolization in So. California and widely regarded as an expert in the treatment of deep venous thrombosis (DVT) using state-of-the-art mechanical thrombectomy technologies. His work has been published in peer-reviewed publications.
Dr. Tahour is a member of the Society of Interventional Oncology (SIO), the Society of Interventional Radiology (SIR) and the American College of Radiology (ACR).
