About Me
Dr. Herrington completed her training in Cardiothoracic Surgery at the University of Minnesota in 1998. She then completed the Congenital Cardiovascular and Transplant Fellowship at Children's Hospital Los Angeles. In June 1999 she returned to the University of Minnesota where she was an active Cardiothoracic Surgeon, specializing in congenital cardiac surgery and thoracic transplantation. During that time, she was recognized by her peers in the community by being voted onto the Minneapolis-St. Paul Top Doctors list for six of the nine years she was in Minnesota. She was actively involved in teaching, program development, clinical research and publications, much of which related to transplantation including heart and lung transplantation in children.
In 2008, Dr. Herrington returned to Children's Hospital Los Angeles as a Professor of Surgery and assumed the responsibility for the Congenital Training Program. She has established herself in Southern California with an extremely busy surgical practice that treats primarily a blend of infants and neonates. Dr. Herrington has joined the medical staff of Miller Children’s and Women’s Hospital and is now performing cardiothoracic surgeries at Miller Children’s & Women’s Hospital in Long Beach.
She continues to hold the Ryan Winston Family Chair in Transplant Cardiology at Children's Hospital Los Angeles and remains active with teaching at the national level. Dr. Herrington is a well-respected member in the field of congenital heart surgery, both in her clinical practice and her contributions to education and research.
