The Outpatient Lactation Clinic provides women with assistance and support to help them reach their breastfeeding goals. The clinic empowers women with evidence-based lactation education, improves and maintains the health status of mothers and babies through nutrition management, and provides education to mothers during their breastfeeding experience. Services are provided by board-certified registered nurse lactation consultants who have advanced training in breastfeeding management.

Each 90-minute lactation consultant visit will include observation of the baby breastfeeding, assessment of maternal and infant anatomy, evaluation of breastfeeding difficulties, suggestions for resolving them, and assessment of infant weight loss or gain.
