The Power of Art Therapy
Our Jonathan Jaques Children’s Cancer Institute is known for its comprehensive psychosocial programs that enhance patient care. One of those is our Art Therapy Program, which has a dedicated art therapist who provides art sessions for patients with cancer and blood disorders while in the hospital. Art is a powerful tool that can identify and manage stressors, empower young patients and offer a complementary treatment method to relieve symptoms and gain insights into thoughts, feelings and behaviors about their disease/illness.
In-Person Art Showcase
Each year, we collect the incredible artwork that our patients create and display it in a physical art gallery for families, friends and care teams to enjoy. Please join us to view our patients’ artwork.
Virtual Art Showcase
If you aren’t able to attend our in-person art show, you can still enjoy each drawing and painting by visiting millerchildrens.org/ArtShow.
